Ph.D

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (DCSE) at Chaudhary Devi Lal University (CDLU) offers a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) program in Computer Science and Engineering. The program focuses on advanced research, mandatory coursework, and thesis execution under expert faculty guidance.

 

Program Overview & Eligibility

  • Degree Name: Ph.D. in Computer Science & Engineering.
  • Eligibility: Master’s degree (M.Tech/MCA/M.Sc) in a related field with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade) from a recognized university. A 5% relaxation applies to SC/ST/BC/PwBD/EWS candidates. 
  • Duration: Minimum 3 years to maximum 5–6 years, inclusive of coursework. 
  • Mode: Available in regular full-time and part-time options (subject to seat availability and NOC requirements for working professionals). 

Admission Process

  • Selection: Based on university entrance tests or exemptions as per UGC/CDLU ordinances (such as valid NET/JRF scores), followed by an interview-cum-counseling round.
  • Application Portal: Notifications, vacant seat matrices, and application links are hosted centrally on the CDLU Admission Portal. 
M.Tech CSE

Master of Technology (M.Tech.) Computer Science & Engineering Weekend

(2.5 Years) (classes will be held during weekends)

Seats: 30

Eligibility: 

A person, who has passed one of the following examinations of this University or an examination recognized as equivalent there to, shall be eligible to join the First Semester of the programme:
MCA, MSc in Computer Science/Information Technology/Mathematics/ Applied Mathematics/ Physics/Applied Physics/Statistics/Operational Research/ Electronics/ Bioinformatics/MBA (Information Technology) with at least 55% marks in aggregate.
OR
B.E./B.Tech. or equivalent degree in any discipline with at least 55% marks in aggregate.
Note:
1. For M.Sc., aggregate marks of two years/four semesters will be considered for academic merit
2. For MCA, aggregate marks of three years/six semesters (2 years/four semester for MCA lateral entry) will be considered for academic merit.
3. For B.Tech./BE aggregate marks of 8 semesters/6 semesters (for lateral entry) will be considered for academic merit.
The order of preference for the purpose of admission shall be as follows:
a) Qualified valid GATE in anyone of the subjects mentioned in 1(i). Such candidates shall compete for admission on the basis of their valid GATE percentage.
b) Seats remaining vacant after offering them to candidates with valid GATE, shall be filled on the basis of academic merit in Qualifying Examination plus usual weightage(s) admissible, if any

MCA

Master of Computer Applications (MCA) (2 Years)

Seats: 36

Eligibility:

1) Passed BCA/Bachelor Degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent Degree.
OR
Passed B.Sc./B.Com./B.A with Mathematics at 10+2 Level or at Graduation level (with additional bridge courses as per the norms of the concerned University)
2) Passed with a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate (40% for SC/DSC/ST/DAP candidates)

Master of Computer Applications (MCA) (1 year)

Seats: 14

Eligibility: 

1. The candidate who has passed PGDCA with Mathematics as a subject at the 10+2 level or at the Graduation level.
OR
2.The candidate who has completed a 4-year Undergraduate Degree in any of the following disciplines:
a). BCA (Bachelor of Computer Applications)
b) B.Sc. in Computer Science / Data Science / Information Technology
c) Any other equivalent degree in the Computer Science discipline.
Note:
1.Passed with a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate (40% for SC/DSC/ST/DAP candidates)
2. Mathematics as a subject at the 10+2 level or at the Graduation level.

M.Sc CS (AI &DS)

Master of Science (M. Sc.) Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence & Data Science) (2 Years)

Seats: 20

Eligibility: 

With a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate (40% for SC/DSC/ST/DAP candidates) (B. Sc. Non-Medical/Computer Science/ IT/ Electronics/ Data Science/Physics/Mathematics/Statistics, BCA, B. A. with Mathematics at 10+2 level, B. Com. with Mathematics at 10+2 Level, BBA with Mathematics at 10+2 Level, B.E./B. Tech.-Any Discipline)

Master of Science (M. Sc.) Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence & Data Science) (1 Year)

Seats: 10

Eligibility:

1. The candidate who has passed PGDCA with Mathematics as a subject at the 10+2 level or at the Graduation level.
OR
2.The candidate who has completed a 4-year Undergraduate Degree in any of the following disciplines:
a). BCA (Bachelor of Computer Applications)
b) B.Sc. in Computer Science / Data Science / Information Technology
c) Any other equivalent degree in the Computer Science discipline.
Note:

PGDCA

PG Diploma in Computer Applications (PGDCA) (01 Year)

Seats: 40

Eligibility:

Graduation in any discipline with a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate (40% for SC/DSC/ST/DAP candidates)

B.Tech ( AI and ML)
